We all know that setting goals is a good way to keep track of what you want to achieve in life. But did you know that in addition to writing out your goals, writing out daily affirmations makes it even more likely that you will achieve those goals? The word affirm means “to state positively; to maintain as true.” An affirmation is a positive statement that helps you consciously focus on your thoughts. By stating your goals as affirmations that are ALREADY true, you’re essentially manifesting them into reality.
These are strange times. The entire world has been deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. It has changed so many aspects of our daily lives, and we still aren’t clear when or how things will return to normalcy. Living in a constant state of uncertainty and fear can cause what experts call emotional fatigue or emotional exhaustion.
I attended a church sermon once where the pastor talked about joy as an active state of being that you choose to experience, not just an emotion or a feeling. That’s certainly contrary to the dictionary definition above. I’d always thought of joy as an emotion.
